Rhythmic Impressions: Art of Jazz, Roots and Blues

September 6 - October 26

Celebrate the vibrant works of Tim Ellis, Al Moretti, Dane Tilghman, and sculptor Aubrey Maurer. This exhibition brings together an extraordinary collection of paintings and sculptures that capture the essence and soul of jazz, roots, and blues music.

Tim Ellis, Al Moretti, and Dane Tilghman are renowned for their captivating paintings that depict the icons and atmosphere of jazz, roots, and blues music. Their work showcases the deep emotional connections and historical significance of these musical genres through dynamic compositions, vivid colors, and expressive brushstrokes.

Sculptor Aubrey Maurer complements these paintings with stunning abstract ceramic sculptures. Hand-built from unglazed stoneware, her work fuses organic and abstract elements to convey solid physicality and earthy elegance. Inspired by nature, organic forms, and modernist design, Aubrey's sculptures highlight the beauty of imperfection and our innate kinship with the natural environment.

Emotional Alchemy, identifying with the color of music

September 6 - September 28

Marcy Stone is curious by nature and, like many artists, listens to music as she paints. Understanding that music has been emotionally identifying with people for ages, Marcy not only feels colors but hears them as well, which enhances the understanding of why people are moved and connected by
certain pieces of her work.

Music, without getting into the nitty gritty, brings out variations of colors depending on whether it’s in major or minor tones. For Marcy, this is how both music and art move people, no matter the tone or color.  Marcy paints emotions or states of being and music and colors are integral to being able
to express this connection; mindfully and intuitively identifying with the colors of music, in the moment, and allowing the alchemical process of turning raw emotions, life experiences, and inner landscapes into something tangible, relatable, and colorfully profound.

Call for ARtists: “Embodied Emotions: Celebrating the Human Form”

“Embodied Emotions: Celebrating the Human Form” at Lancaster Art Vault is an evocative exploration of the human experience through the lens of art. This exhibition brings together a diverse array of 2D and 3D works that delve into the complexities, vulnerabilities, and strengths of the human form. Each piece is a celebration of the body as a vessel for emotion, expression, and identity.

From classical representations to abstract interpretations, "Embodied Emotions" challenges viewers to connect with the art on a deeply personal level. The works on display reflect the myriad ways in which artists perceive and portray the body, inviting audiences to contemplate the physical and emotional dimensions of human existence.

Curated by Lancaster Art Vault, with a juried selection by esteemed artist Matt Chapman, this exhibition offers a powerful narrative that traverses the boundaries of form, medium, and perspective. "Embodied Emotions" is not just a display of art—it is a celebration of what it means to be human.
