At the heart of my artistic practice lies an unwavering joy for the act of painting itself.
My work is a vibrant exploration of this joy, manifested through a diverse range of subjects and styles -from intimate portraits and detailed still lifes to expansive landscapes and abstract compositions. Each piece is a celebration of painting's versatility, embodying both the tactile satisfaction of brushstrokes and the boldness of color.
My creative process begins with direct observation of the world around me. I visit locations and capture photographs to ensure that I have a vivid and accurate representation of the atmosphere and mood I wish to convey. These photos serve not as literal references, but as starting points for a deeper, emotional exploration of my subjects.
A defining element of my technique in much of my work is the use of a bright, saturated underpainting. This initial layer sets a vibrant foundation for the work, infusing it with energy and setting the stage for the expressive application of paint. I build upon this base using palette knives and large brushes, focusing on bold, exaggerated colors and dynamic textures to capture the essence of the subject.
My work invites viewers to experience the tactile joy of painting -to feel the physicality of the brushstrokes, the play of light and shadow, and the exuberance of color. Whether through the tranquility of a landscape, the intimacy of a portrait, or the emotional energy of abstraction, my art aims to evoke a personal connection & inspire reflection on one's own emotional journey.
