Expressions of Strength Opening Reception
The Lancaster Art Vault, in partnership with Baldwin’s Gallery, proudly presents Expressions of Strength: A Celebration of Black Art and Identity. This inspiring exhibition showcases the creativity, resilience, and diverse voices of Black artists.
This powerful collection brings together the works of 18+ talented artists and poets, exploring themes of identity, heritage, and community through a range of mediums and perspectives.
Opening Reception – February 1, 2025 from 6:00-8:30PM.

Celebrate the launch of this extraordinary exhibition with an evening of art, community, and live performances. The reception will feature a spoken word experience entitled “Prolific Nostalgia” led by Sir Dominique Jordan featuring LASSAI, Christline, Kedrock and Sam Yeye, bringing the themes of the exhibition to life through powerful, resonant storytelling.
Adding to the immersive experience, the gallery walls will showcase written works by numerous Lancaster’s poets, curated by “Nobody’s Pen”, weaving a rich tapestry of words and visual art. The show will also include a Pop-Up Bookstore from A Concrete Rose, offering a curated selection of books celebrating Black authors, culture, and history.

About the Lancaster Art Vault:
The Lancaster Art Vault is a unique destination for creatives and collectors located in downtown Lancaster. LAV is committed to showcasing diverse voices and fostering meaningful dialogue through art. As a working gallery with over 19 resident artists in studio, visitors can engage with the artists, learn about their creative processes, and discover the stories behind their works. With a history of presenting thought-provoking exhibitions and over 15,000 square feet of open gallery space, the gallery continues to be a cultural cornerstone in Lancaster, PA.
About Baldwin’s Gallery:
Baldwin’s Gallery is dedicated to uplifting underrepresented artists and creating platforms for artistic voices that challenge, inspire, and connect communities. As a full service artist representation business that has been operating since 2012, Baldwin’s Gallery has serviced over 75 artists and artisans, produced over 130 art shows and participated in close to 120 special events. With a large gallery in Lancaster city, multiple retail partners throughout Central PA, Baldwin’s Gallery works with a variety of artists and makers all around Pennsylvania.
