In Colors of Lancaster, visual artist Frank Nolan invites viewers to experience the beauty of Lancaster County through his unique lens…both literally and figuratively.  This vibrant collection of photography and watercolor celebrates the charm and character which make Lancaster such a special place.

Working fluidly between photography and painting, Frank transforms familiar scenes into expressive images infused with warmth and light.  Whether capturing the glow of sunlight on historic architecture and the rich hues of local landscapes or painting the quiet moments that often go unnoticed…his work moves beyond simple documentation.  Each piece reflects his belief that art should inspire positivity, connection, and a renewed appreciation of the world around us.

Residing in Lancaster and influenced by his cultural upbringing in the San Francisco Bay Area, his lifetime of travel, and his deep connection to Lancaster…Frank uses color as a language of emotion. His photography possesses a painterly quality while his watercolors capture whimsy and playfulness.  He is a resident artist with Lancaster Art Vault and is concurrently showing at the Sedona Art Center in Arizona and the Art Association of Harrisburg.  Frank is exploring techniques to combine these two mediums and his work is held by collectors who love to bring warmth into their homes and who challenge traditional definitions of art.
